Robyn Pearce
I joined the parks in Jan 2015 as maternity cover for the education manager. As I’m new, there’s a lot to learn, but having met the fun and passionate team, I can’t wait to get stuck in!
The best thing about my job is…Being part of ‘that moment’ when a child suddenly understands the message hidden in a bird’s song, or the complexity of a tiny pond critter, and connects with nature properly for the first time.
My favourite Royal Park is...Hyde Park, where our education centre is. I love stepping off the tube and that fresh-air hit as I walk to work.
My favourite fact about a Royal Park is...That the LookOut is historically the post from where the Police could keep an eye on Speaker’s corner, just in case opinions voiced became a little too radical…
If I were a creature in the Parks, I would be...A robin; not just my name-sake but because of the male’s beautiful song and their confidence in approaching people.
If I had a super-power, it would be…To speak to the animals, as I bet they have some stories to tell!
