Claire Ashfield

I joined the Royal Parks Foundation in April 2014. As Commercial Venue Manager I focus on generating income for the charity through hosting a huge range of events at our unique eco venue, The LookOut, located in the middle of Hyde Park.

The best thing about my job is… meeting new people and businesses every day. It’s great to work with a range of companies, suppliers and individuals to bring events to life. The LookOut is a magical place and people always leave with a smile on their face!

 My favourite Royal Park is... the Parks are very different and I have spent a fair amount of time in most of them so it’s difficult to choose. If I must pick one then it would have to be Regents Park as I love the view of London from Primrose Hill – it’s a great spot to picnic the afternoon away and watch the sunset.

My favourite fact about a Royal Park is... that every Sunday since 1866 people have gathered at Speakers Corner in Hyde Park. It’s viewed by many as the home of free speech and it’s a living landmark steeped in history.

If I were a creature in the Parks, I would be... a squirrel as they have a great time entertaining thousands of visitors in the parks each day.  

If I had a super-power, it would be…the power to bring about world peace.
