About Giancarlo Neri

Born in Naples in 1955, Giancarlo Neri moved to New York in 1978 to play professional football. He studied painting and sculpture at the Art Students League, and became a full time artist in 1980. He held his first solo show at the Kornblee Gallery, New York in 1983 and since then has worked on large-scale site-specific installations in the USA, Europe and Brazil.
