St. James’s Park

The oldest of London’s eight beautiful Royal Parks, St. James's Park is steeped in history and is the heart of ceremonial London.

The park provides the setting for spectacular pageants including the annual Trooping the Colour, and is surrounded by some of the country's most famous landmarks including Buckingham Palace, Clarence House, St James's Palace and Westminster.

But there's another side to St James's Park; it's a tranquil green space in the centre of the city and visitors can stroll by the lakeside and watch the ducks as well as relax in a deck chair and watch the world go by.

If you're planning a visit to the park you should also fit in a trip to the lake where you can see the pelicans basking on their favourite rocks and getting fed fresh fish between 2:30 pm and 3:00 pm every day.  Find out more about the pelicans in St James's Park here.

As the charity for the Royal Parks, we're here to enhance, protect and preserve St. James's Park for future generations. With your support, we’re able to raise funds for a wide variety of projects from wildlife conservation and landscape restoration, to community sport, education and art - ensuring that St. James’s Park becomes part of more people’s lives.
