Pegasus Painted in Hyde Park!

It was an early start for horse Tetua, his owner Patrick Kempe, artist Eleanor Darley and the team here at the Royal Parks Foundation. We were all excited about what was about to ensue, except for Tetua, who was as calm and relaxed as could be.

And what a beautiful horse Tetua is. He's a Portuguese Lucitano, just unders 16 hands tall with a gorgeous face and tranquil temperament. He's used to public events and even took part in the New Year’s parade in London so he was just perfect for becoming a living work of art.

Artist, Eleanor, studied the Pegasus Ronnie Wood deckchair design for inspiration and prepared the paints, which had been specially selected to be safe for Tetua. And then the painting began. With long, sweeping brush strokes and a wonderful connection between artist and horse, the painting was complete in just over an hour. And Pegusus was ready for his close up!

Tetua trotted into Hyde Park and quickly became the focus of attention, attracting joggers, dog walkers and the Paparazzi as he proudly stood amongst the Deckchair Dreams Collection 2013 Hyde Park.

He looked magnificent as he stood next to his deckchair namesake. We hope Ronnie would be proud!
