Painting the Landscape: a beginners' course

Led by award winning landscape artist Henrietta Simson, the course is aimed at beginners who want to explore their creativity, gain confidence and develop drawing and painting skills. You don’t need any particular knowledge or skills, just be fit to walk unaided around Hyde Park and carry your own materials!
Over the six session course you will learn all the practical tools needed to create the perfect landscape including:
- how to sketch from the landscape
- how to draw and paint clouds and sky
- how to compose using perspective, scale and shade
- how to create landscapes over water
- how to draw trees, flowers and statues as part of a landscape

Please note:
- This workshop is for adults aged 18 and over
- Please bring your own materials, stools will be provided. Drawing materials may include sketch books, pencils, chalks or carbons. Painting materials may include watercolours, acrylics, brushes or soluble pencils.
- Bring waterproofs - the course will go ahead no matter the weather!
- Tea and coffee will be provided
- Although adverse weather conditions and other factors have been considered, it may be that the order or the theme of the day may be changed to take account of these
