Deckchair Design

Ben donated a deckchair design to Deckchair Dreams in 2007. His limited edition deckchair is available from our online shop. All proceeds helps support the Royal Parks.

Ben tells us why we loves the Royal Parks and about his deckchair design:

LOVE, ADVENTURE AND DOG WALKING: The Royal Parks are my desert, my jungle, my ocean, my mountains, my countryside but above all my escape. I was born within crawling distance of Hyde Park which in turn has been the stage to my life. Loves and losses. Happiness and sorrow. Excitement and trepidation. In my lifetime I have walked over 20,000 miles of Hyde Park. I know every tree and each blade of grass. I have revised for exams and failed exams, walked puppies and mourned the loss of older dogs, courted and split up, trained for arctic expeditions and desert adventures. I even met the love of my life in Hyde Park.

The inspiration for my canvas is the recycling of life. Like my canvas, The Ben Fogle DeckchairRoyal Parks have inspired countless brush strokes in my life. Others' discarded litter becomes another's treasure. My deckchair, like my park, represents my life so far. It is a story of adventure, dog walking and marriage."
