'The Way' Gates

'The Way' Gates made a fabulous addition to Richmond Park in 2011, to mark the tercentenary of St Paul's Cathedral.

The Way Gates in Richmond ParkLocated on the edge of Sidmouth Woods, visitors can view the gates through the King Henry's Mound telescope and enjoy the protected, and breath-taking, 10-mile view to St Paul’s Cathedral.

The gates were designed by artist blacksmith Joshua De Lisle to complement the natural environment of Richmond Park and the vista by depicting oak branches which concave to reflect the cathedral's dome.

The gates were kindly donated by the family of renowned environmentalist and The Ecologist magazine founder, the late Edward Goldsmith.
